The Grammys Need a Change

Jack O'brien February 10, 2011

There’s no doubt that the Grammy awards are considered to be ridiculous at several levels by the who’s-who in music circles as well as the artists, fans and critics. And while this has become the elephant in the room that no one like to acknowledge, one of the former music executives to the Grammys brain trust clearly conveyed this point in a letter which was published in the Sunday New York Times.

And despite the fact that this year’s show ratings were the highest ever since 2001, almost everyone can see that it is indeed time for some changes to be made to the Grammys.

Speaking of categories and awards, don’t you think it’s time that the Grammys included an Artist of the Year award?

Thirdly, it has been noticed that the majority of time when one watches or attends the Grammys is devoted to performances whereas very few awards are presented during the show, and perhaps this is just one thing that they will have to cut out, as the Grammys are specifically about the award ceremony.
