Steven Tyler has been in the news for all the right and wrong reasons whether it is his issues with his band mates or even his current status as a judge on American Idol. While the latter seems to take up most of his time, he will also be recording a new album with his band mates after almost seven years this summer.
The last album that they released was Honkin’ on Bobo in 2004, and following Tyler’s issues with painkiller addiction and spats with his band mates over the last few years, it seems as if the band is finally back to doing what they do best.
According to most of the band members, their intention was to work with the producer Brendan O’Brien but due to the health issues that Joe Perry and Steven Tyler faced, the project had to be postponed until this year. Of course, this ensured that they never got down to working with the producer in question and have decided to stick with Jack Douglas, who was their producer right from the start of their career and helped them release classic albums such as Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic and Rocks to much success.
Yet despite the rocky moments and delays, all band members are very sure about getting back together and recording as they did so long ago – as a band, and in the same room.
In short, they want to make an old-school Aerosmith album and their very best – something that fans will look forward to in the coming months ahead.
